We are born with pure Ego – neither good nor bad, large or small, positive or negative.
Then we start rolling down the hill of life, gathering experiences, opinions and the labels we, and others, pin on us.
Our outer shell forms, as, like a snowball gathering momentum and size, we roll faster and further bouncing over bumps and collecting more coating on our way, hiding our true Self from view as we make our way in the world in our Ego identity.
Sometimes we lose momentum or naturally slow down and realise how heavy this outer coating feels.
We take a moment to reflect, we feel the warmth of a spiritual sun on our form, and some of our snowball-like casing melts away.
We feel a contentment, a moment of bliss and a peek into Knowingness.
So we say “ah, I need to sit in the sun to get rid of this weight”, not realising that it is our inner sun that melts our shell from the inside-out.
The more we see who we really are, the more light shines through us and those layers become transparent, then dissolve as we see their illusions for what they are – just a collection of stories we thought were true, a collection of old thoughts we cling on to “because that’s who I am”. They are just moments in the past, or imagined moments in the future.
They are not who we truly are.
All we ever have is this moment, and the moment it becomes that moment it too has passed.
We have the possibility of being fresh and new with EVERY moment and those every moments can only ever be experienced as our unique “now”. To be truly in the Now means to be free from past or future thoughts.
It is not a peeling away of layers but an inner radiating of our true spiritual nature that brings us Home.
We never left, we just think we did!
Seeing this and knowing this gives us a luminosity that needs no outer source or stimulus.
Pure Ego has nothing to fear.
We are all The One.
“Your eyes must see in the singular if you want to find truth.
When you understand this, you will see through the illusionary duality of life”
